Sixteen members of the Armour Home team took part in last week's 'Great South Run'. We are pleased to report they all successfully completed the ten mile course and also raised just over £5000 on behalf of the British Heart Foundation, the NSPCC, a number of cancer charities and a local hospice.
Glenn McClelland, Armour's Managing Director, who took part in the run said: "I'm really proud of the guys and gals who took part. After running in the London marathon earlier in this year, I confess I've got a bit hooked on long distance running. So I've been encouraging my colleagues and I must say they've come up trumps. We're all getting fitter, some of us are even getting slimmer, and we're raising money for good causes along the way. In fact, in order to raise even more money, we have decided to enter two teams into the 'Three Peaks Challenge', which involves climbing the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales in a 24 hour period."
As well as Glenn McClelland, the Armour staff who completed the run were:
Natasha Sugar, Colin Bartram, Helen Glen, Gavin Minnell, Karen Carpenter, Michelle Dorrian, Mark Collingwood, Kathy Jordan, Chris Saunders,
Kevin Taylor, Linda Lamb, Ashley Hutchinson, Gordon Salter, Richard Upchurch and 'Friend of Armour' Tanya Barrell-Filer.
